Our why

Because Life Doesn't Stop When Someone We Love Is Gone.

Grief changes the way we experience life. But even in our hardest moments, there is still room for love, comfort, meaningful experiences, and moments that remind us it's okay to smile again.

The Last Gift was created to help families feel supported beyond the funeral, beyond the flowers, and beyond the first few days of loss.

Our story

Born From Love. Inspired by Loss. Created for What Comes After.

The Last Gift was inspired by the loss of my brother.

When my family experienced losing someone we loved, I began thinking about everything families carry after the services are over. The flowers eventually fade. The visitors return home. The phone calls become less frequent. But the people left behind are still trying to figure out what life looks like without someone they love.

I thought about my mother and what could have helped her through the grieving process. Not just traditional sympathy gifts, but things that could bring her comfort, make everyday life a little easier, or give her something meaningful to look forward to. Something that might make her smile, even if only for a moment.

I also began thinking about how much a simple outing or new experience can mean during difficult times. Sometimes getting out of the house, visiting a park, attending an event, enjoying a favorite restaurant, or trying something new can offer a much-needed moment of relief.

That's when I realized that supporting someone through grief doesn't always mean giving them something that reminds them of their loss. Sometimes, the greatest gift is reminding them that they are still allowed to live, laugh, experience joy, and create new memories.

That's why The Last Gift was created. Not to change how people grieve, but to give the people who love them more meaningful ways to show up.

Why we offer three collections

Because Comfort Looks Different for Everyone.

No two people experience loss the same way. Some people find peace in keepsakes. Others find comfort in their favorite meal. Some need practical support. Others simply need a reason to get out of the house. That's why we've created three collections built around different ways of showing love.

Joy & Experiences

Because new memories can be part of healing.

Sometimes the best gift isn't something you can hold. It's something you can experience. Our Joy & Experiences collection helps loved ones give families opportunities to step outside their everyday routines and enjoy life at their own pace — a concert, a relaxing spa day, a family outing, or simply a beautiful afternoon somewhere different. Not to forget the person they've lost, but to remember that life can still hold beautiful moments.

Gift Cards

Because sometimes the simplest gifts mean the most.

A gift card may seem small, but during difficult times, it can mean everything. Dinner at a favorite restaurant. A trip to Target. A cup of coffee. Groceries for the week. A little something for the children. Gift cards give families the freedom to choose what brings them comfort, convenience, or happiness when they're ready. No pressure. No expectations. Just a thoughtful way to say, “I'm thinking of you.”

The Last Gift Collection

Because some gifts are meant to be held close.

Our signature collection brings together thoughtfully selected remembrance gifts and comforting everyday items — memorial keepsakes, jewelry, care packages, personalized items, and meaningful gifts for families. Some gifts honor the person who has passed. Others celebrate the people who are still here. Each item is selected with the intention of offering comfort, connection, thoughtfulness, or a small moment of joy.

More than a memorial registry

When Someone Asks, “How Can I Help?”

After a loss, people often ask: “Do you need anything?” “How can I help?” “Please let me know if there's something I can do.”

These questions come from love. But when someone is grieving, it can be difficult to know what to ask for or how to explain what they need. The Last Gift makes it easier. Through our memorial registry, families can thoughtfully select gifts, meaningful experiences, practical support, and items that reflect their individual lives. Friends, relatives, coworkers, and communities can then show their love in tangible ways.

And support doesn't have to end after the funeral. It can arrive weeks later, months later, or whenever it's needed most.

A message from our founder

“After losing my brother, I realized that grief doesn't end when the services are over. I thought about my mother, my family, and the countless people who continue carrying their grief quietly after everyone else has returned to their routines.

I wanted to create something that gave people a different way to show love. Not just through flowers or traditional sympathy gifts, but through moments of joy, meaningful experiences, comforting gifts, and everyday acts of kindness.

The Last Gift is my way of reminding families that even after loss, love continues. And there's still room for beautiful moments ahead.”
